LEONARDO - fresco and stone cleaning agent

Leonardo is a cleaning agent for frescoes,made according to a recipe, recommended and tested by the Central RestorationInstitute in Rome (Instituto Centrale del Restauro di Roma).

The main components are:
ammonium bicarbonate, sodium bicarbonate, EDTA (sodium salt of ethylene diamine tetraacetic acid), CMC (carboxymethylcellulose) and water.

METHOD OF APPLICATION

Through Japan paper (9 or 11 g/m²) spread the paste on the surface and leave for a few hours to dry. It can be used in combination with sepiolite, attapulgite and/or cellulose fibres.  When the layer is almost completely dry,carefully peel it off.
Carefully rinse with distilled water.
